Tiger Myrtle
This large oblong-shaped hair clip is made from a prominent species of the temperate rainforests of Tasmania and Victoria: Myrtle. This rare timber has characteristic warm tones, ranging from pale pink to deep red.
Tiger Myrtle, so named for the black tiger-like stripes running through it, was once discarded by wood craftsmen as 'blemished'. Thankfully, it is no longer wasted and has now joined the list of beautiful and highly-prized Tasmanian specialty timbers.
Hand-crafted using traditional wood bending techniques and delicately shaped to enhance the grain of the featured timber. The wood is very strong, yet light to wear and is meticulously finished until it is irresistibly smooth, with a deep natural lustre.
Large (80mm) stainless steel barrette clip. This size clip suits most wearers, with its 2-stage closure that allows for varying amounts of hair.
