Celtic Inlay Queen Anne Hair Clip

The knot design in this hair clip was spotted by Elizabeth at the Viking Ship Museum in Olso, where she first became fascinated with Celtic knot design and was inspired to create her Celtic Collection. Featuring two separate, but interwoven loops, this piece is made up of 18 tiny slithers of timber veneer, individually sawn out and then placed together by hand. Each of the 8 sections of loop have been heat treated at the ends to darken the natural timber colour, thereby enhancing the 3D woven effect.
Queen Anne refers to the gently scalloped edge which frames this design and is typical of Queen Anne style furniture.
